Critics of Mayor Steve Olson have made fun of his looks, his weight. They’ve caricatured him, comparing him to a fumbling bumbling TV character. They’ve called him names. But that was all 5^th grade stupid stuff. Tonight a few went too far and crossed the line.

At the citizen comment period that opened tonight’s Common Council meeting Orville Seymer of Fran kiln threatened a recall if Olson wins Tuesday’s election. And that’s fine. His right after all.

But he also said there are rumors Olson is shredding documents. Oh really? What documents would those be? And where the hell is the evidence? Or is he throwing crap against the wall to see if it sticks.

The worst was from Milwaukee County Supervisor Steve Taylor who accused the mayor of, and I quote Taylor, “shakedowns” and “pay-to play.”  Those are extremely serious allegations, essentially accusing the mayor of committing crimes. Allegations with no substantiation or proof the night before an election. Beyond despicable. The mayor should have challenged him to put up or shut up.

The complete lack of decorum and respect tonight was disgusting.
