In 2007 when I often filled in for Mark Belling at Newstalk 1130 WISN, I dedicated a couple of segments that summer to discuss a horrendous, outrageous example of a complete disregard for human life.

The story was from Wichita, Kansas. A woman was stabbed inside a convenience store. While on the floor, bleeding and dying, she was ignored, except for the persons stepping over her, or taking photos of her that were later posted on the Internet.

One of my rules about being a talk show host: Talk about what I’m passionate about. This item was right up there.

My recollection was we spent little, if any time, talking about what should be done criminally to those who did nothing, nothing to help the dying woman.

That was 10 years ago. Ten years later, it seems if a similar incident occurs, it’s difficult going after the ‘Bad Samaritans.’
