As the DNC holds its virtual convention not far from me in downtown Milwaukee they, like the RNC soon, is formulating its party platform, a lengthy written document specifically outlining the policies the Democrats will run on.
Moderate it’s not. There are 80 pages, a tidal wave of hundreds of wacky moonbat proposals and promises. Imagine Lambeau Field filled with Christmas trees, each adorned with a host of glittery ornaments. That’s the Democrat wish list. Here is but a smattering:
Reverse the Trump Administration’s tax cuts
Provide universal health care coverage
Free Covid-19 testing, treatment, and vaccines for all
Empowering Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices
Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour
Significantly increasing the child tax credit
Decriminalizing marijuana use
Creating a roadmap to citizenship for illegal immigrants
Repealing the amendment stating federal funds can’t be used for abortion
Making public colleges and universities tuition-free for students whose families earn less than $125,000 a year
Doing away with voter ID to
Supporting automatic voter registration, same-day voter registration, early voting, and universal vote-from-home and vote-by-mail options
Make Election Day a national holiday
Installing 500,000 public charging stations for electric vehicles
Investing in high-speed rail
Establishing a national commission to examine the lasting economic effects of slavery, Jim Crow segregation, and racially discriminatory federal policies
Enact universal background checks for guns
End online sales of guns and ammunition
Ban the manufacture and sale of what the Dems like to call “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines
Incentivize states to enact licensing requirements for owning firearms
Support “red flag” laws that allow courts to temporarily remove guns from the possession of those a court deems are a danger to themselves or others
Hold gun manufacturers responsible for their products
Discontinue constructing the wall on the southern border
Authorize up to $10,000 in student debt relief per borrower
The word “invest’ is used frequently (liberal code for “spend”). Never mentioned is the cost for all of these goodies, or how to pay for it. But we know how they’ll do it, don’t we.
There are a gazillion reasons to vote for Donald Trump. If you can stomach it all you can read it right here.
