Last September 6th, Milwaukee County Supervisor Steve Taylor posted a meme taking a shot at Franklin Mayor Steve Olson. Taylor is a staunch supporter of Olson’s April opponent John Nelson.

The meme pictures Mayor Olson as Jefferson Davis “J.D.” Hogg, known as Boss Hogg, a character featured in the television series “The Dukes of Hazzard.” Hogg was the commissioner of Hazzard County, the county’s political boss who usually wore an all-white suit with a white cowboy hat.

The intent was to ridicule. Clever it was not. Try sophomoric. Immature.

In the TV series Hogg was played by Sorrell Booke.

I don’t think the comparison to Olson by his detractors was all that smart. Seems someone didn’t do their homework.

The anti-Olson forces want to win. I get that.

But how petty and childish.

Quite frankly I thought they were better than this.
