On Saturday the Greendale High School Marching Band traveled to Whitewater to perform in the 2022 state marching band championship. And like they’ve done so many times in the past, Greendale won it all.
First place, Class AA
Highest overall score across all divisions (90.725)
Best percussion
Best musical presentation
Someone wrote on Facebook late Saturday night:
For anyone new to Greendale: just before midnight, you’ll hear horns and sirens from the high school. Don’t worry… it’s a tradition to welcome back the marching band from State. They’re state champs for the 18th year!
I noticed on social media Franklin residents responding to the ‘noise’ with compliments and congratulations for the band. I read no complaints about the ‘noise’ from Franklinites.
This is unlike some Greendale fuddy-duddies who are constantly bickering, squabbling, stomping their feet, turning blue about the sounds emanating from Franklin’s Ballpark Commons.
Just sayin.’
Way to go Greendale H.S.!
