The closed on-ramp to head west has been a nightmare.

60th Street is closed between Cold Spring Road and Layton Avenue.

How have motorists been getting around during the construction? Motorists have been encouraged to use Forest Home Avenue, 76th Street, and Layton Avenue. Pedestrians and bicyclists are encouraged to use 68th Street, Howard Avenue, Forest Home, and Layton Avenue.

When’s it all end?

My good friend at the WI Dept. of Transportation, Michael Pyritz tells me:

The work is on pace to finish around late October. But here’s bad news. There will be full closures of the ramps for around 30 days starting in September.
