Reasons I’m voting for Rebecca Kleefisch on August 9, #31: Ban Critical Race Theory

POSTING A REASON DAILY UNTIL THE PRIMARY

Back in January the WI Legislature approved a ban on Critical Race Theory in schools.

The state Senate voted for the ban, 20-13. In September of 2021 the state Assembly approved the ban, 60-38. The legislation was vetoed by Gov. Evers.

Rebecca says the curriculum in today’s schools “should inspire (students) with a love of our nation and an appreciation for our constitutional rights and liberties. We should not let woke university schools of education smuggle left-wing ideology into our classrooms under the guise of critical race theory or culturally responsive teaching or social emotional learning. We can help all of our students tackle tough issues, without dividing and labeling people in ways that discourage rather than facilitate honest conversations.”
