NOTE: THIS IS INTENDED FOR ALL PARENTS, NOT JUST THOSE WHERE I LIVE.
Franklin residents, remember when you attended school board meeting after school board meeting and implored board members to unmask our kids? You were armed with all kinds of evidence and substantive arguments. Didn’t matter. Your pleas for the longest time fell on deaf ears.
Here in Franklin attendees never got unruly. On occasion some yelled and hollered and got angry. But proceedings never got out of hand.
At one Franklin meeting school board member Ann Sepersky foolishly and erroneously described the atmosphere as a “hostile environment.” As opposed to forcibly masking kindergartners to mask up daily for hours and hours. If these board meetings are too “hostile” for Sepersky or anyone else I’ve got a famous Harry Truman quote I’d like to share.
All around the country rightfully concerned parents were attacked, called “domestic terrorists.”
Now comes this stunning news. An early draft of a letter from the National School Boards Association (NSBA) to the White House that originally sought to label parents as “domestic terrorists” shockingly called for the deployment of the Army National Guard and the military to monitor school board meetings. In the early draft of the letter, the NSBA also called protesting parents “plotters who are targeting schools and educators.”
