Judge and soon-to-be Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wasn’t able to define the word this week in her confirmation hearing. “I’m not a biologist,” Jackson flippantly said. It’s a mystery for the ages, what a woman is, and it has eluded Jackson throughout her 51 years. It’s odd, considering she is one, and odder still because she was chosen explicitly for that fact, according to Joe Biden, who swore to pick a black woman for the Court. If she’s not a woman, she should probably have mentioned that by now.
