Friday Night Forgotten Oldie: A gift in a taxi

Hard to imagine but previously on this feature I’ve written about some performers you’d think were unlikely: Elvis, the Beatles, Sinatra.

Another unlikely suspect this week.

The Rolling Stones have announced plans to embark on a tour of Europe this summer in celebration of the band’s 60th anniversary. They’ll play 14 shows in ten countries, including two nights at British Summer Time Hyde Park in London, England, and their first concert in Liverpool, England, in more than 50 years.

The tour, titled “Sixty” kicks off June 1 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain, and wraps up on July 31 at Stockholm, Sweden’s Friends Arena. General ticket sales started today.

Their second single, recorded in 1963, was a gift.
