Wednesday night the Franklin School Board voted 4-3 to maintain a mask requirement until each school was under a 1.5% threshold of total students with positive COVID cases.
During board discussion school board president Mike Spragg noted that even though the district mandated masks the COVID numbers continued to rise, so he questioned if masks are effective.
Ann Sepersky condescendingly responded that Spragg doesn’t understand the mask concept.
Voting to keep masks in place were board members Sepersky, Angela Bier, Linda Witkowski, and Maqsood Khan.
Voting NO were Spragg, Debbie Larson, and Allan Aleksandrowicz. Spragg correctly argued the district doesn’t have data demonstrating masks work.
These are the same results of a board vote last August to return to a mask requirement.
The board also voted that there’d be no more contact tracing and quarantine for close contact, only informational close contact, and no 10 day stay at home provision.
