What if, Franklin?

What if enough parents of kids in K4 through 6th grade got angry enough at the ridiculous requirement for kids to wear masks all day in class?

What if enough parents followed the advice of US Senator Rand Paul?

Paul said, “We are at a moment of truth and a crossroads. Will we allow these people to use fear and propaganda to do further harm to our society, economy, and children? Or will we stand together and say, absolutely not. Not this time. I choose freedom.”

What if Franklin parents agreed with Paul to “resist”? What if 25 sent their children to school without masks?

What if the number was 50?

What if the resisters totaled 100 or more?

How would Franklin react?

What would the front desk do? Would they panic?

Would there be enough “isolation rooms” to dump these kids into?

Would there be enough staff to get kids their lunch and school tasks?

Would staff be able to make all those phone calls to parents to come pick up their unruly children?

Would a police van have to be sent to the premises, diverted from more important business?

I understand there would be some reluctance to resist, since the school system has threatened parents, warning them that “the District will be required to explore other options, including but not limited to prohibiting your child from in-person instruction, marking them absent, and providing them with schoolwork to complete at home.”

Still, I would love to see the district challenged and put on the spot, if just to watch it be exposed even further as to how inept it really is.

  1. I have been outside of the middle school and 2 elementary schools in Franklin for the past 3 days protesting masks. The majority of people are supportive. A few parents joined me. But most won’t go so far as to stand with me. I suspect many are indifferent and will simply comply because it’s easier for them. What happens when they mandate masks next year? What about when they mandate the vaccine later this school year? If others don’t stand up and peacefully fight, democracy and freedom are gone. Make masks optional.

  2. I agree with Sadhana Bienzen, I wish I had children/grandchildren in Franklin schools so that I could join the mask protesters! Masks are only the start, wait for the vaccine mandates because we know they are coming too!
