Do you know who Richard Treadwell is?

This photo shows a screenshot of cellphone video showing Jacob Blake (right) with a police officer having his gun drawn moments before Blake was shot in the back seven times on Sunday. Aug. 23, 2020.

One year ago today, August 23, 2020, Jacob Blake who is black was shot in Kenosha by a white police officer seven times, leaving him paralyzed.

The incident ignited violent protests. No charges were issued by the local district attorney against the officer.

You’ve probably heard about the anniversary because the news media has been all over the story ad nauseam.

Gov. Evers today took full political advantage of the shooting in typical liberal divisive fashion.

State Senator Van Wangaarrd who represents Racine and Kenosha counties also issued a statement today that probably won’t get much attention. Wangaarrd, a former police officer begins:

Too many people today are misrepresenting the facts of what happened one year ago in Kenosha. A couple of seconds of video repeated endlessly in the media fails to put the incident in perspective. At the time Jacob Blake was shot, he was at minimum trying to kidnap children. At worst, he was turning with a knife to attack a police officer.

Wangaarrd concludes with a thought more than likely lost on our governor:

While thinking and praying for those involved in the incident, please do not forget law enforcement officers and their families all across the state who were impacted as well.

Here’s Wangaarrd’s complete statement.

Do you know who Richard Treadwell is?

You probably don’t.

Treadwell was a Dane County Deputy Sheriff.

He died one year ago Sunday (yesterday).

No, Treadwell didn’t get shot by a gang members with a lengthy rap sheet.

He didn’t die in a high speed chase or accident.

Treadwell had served with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years and was assigned to the Dane County Law Enforcement Training Center. He is survived by his wife and three children.

From the Officer Down Memorial Page:

Beginning in early 2020, due to the requirements of their job, thousands of law enforcement officers and other first responders throughout the United States contracted COVID-19 during the worldwide pandemic. Hundreds of law enforcement officers died from medical complications as a result of contracting the virus while remaining on duty and interacting with the community.

Since just about every liberal on the planet believes COIVID-19 is the greatest scourge to ever affect mankind it would seem Leftists would be more than willing to pay tribute to Treadwell. Except that Treadwell was in law enforcement.

So no Evers’ news release.

No TV coverage.

No newspaper articles.

Treadwell’s one-year anniversary came and went, sadly, in total silence.
