Franklin Public Schools: Stick to your guns on masks

I sent the following today to FPS District Administrator Judy Mueller and all members of the Franklin School Board:

In the FPS newsletter distributed on June 18, 2021, Judy Mueller wrote, “This fall, we will recommend that unvaccinated students wear a mask, however, mask-wearing will not be required. Current CDC guidelines recommend that unvaccinated individuals wear masks in public.”

Similar messages were made in later newsletters.

Recent news reports by the mainstream media have been alarmist, resorting to the same fear-mongering we’ve been inundated with dating back to March of 2020. Given this onslaught of propaganda and that’s exactly what it is I strongly urge you not to reverse course on masks.

Political pundit CJ Hopkins wrote the following last week:

Official propaganda isn’t just information, misinformation, and disinformation. It is actually less about getting us to believe things than it is about creating an official reality, and imposing it on society by force.

Again, the goal of this type of propaganda is not simply to deceive or terrorize the public. That is part of it, of course, but the more important part is forcing people to look at images, over and over, hour after hour, day after day, at home, at work, on the streets, on television, on the Internet, everywhere. This is how we create “reality.” We represent our beliefs and values to ourselves, and to each other, with images, words, rituals, and other symbols and social behaviors. Essentially, we conjure our “reality” into being like actors rehearsing and performing a play … the more we all believe it, the more convincing it is.

This is also why mandatory masks have been essential to the roll-out of the New Normal ideology. Forcing the masses to wear medical-looking masks in public was a propaganda masterstroke. Simply put, if you can force people to dress up like they’re going to work in the infectious disease ward of a hospital every day for 17 months … presto! You’ve got yourself a new “reality” … a new, pathologized-totalitarian “reality,” a paranoid-psychotic, cult-like “reality” in which formerly semi-rational people have been reduced to nonsense-babbling lackeys who are afraid to go outside without permission from “the authorities,” and are injecting their children with experimental “vaccines.”

The fact is, the vast majority of the public — except for people in Sweden, Florida, and assorted other officially non-existent places — have been robotically performing this theatrical ritual, and harassing those who refuse to do so, and thus collectively simulating an “apocalyptic plague.”

The New Normals — i.e., those still wearing masks outdoors, shrieking over meaningless “cases,” bullying everyone to get “vaccinated,” and collaborating with the segregation of the “Unvaccinated” — are not behaving the way they’re behaving because they are stupid. They are behaving that way because they’re living in a new “reality” that has been created for them over the course of the last 17 months by a massive official propaganda campaign, the most extensive and effective in the history of propaganda.

The vast majority of obedient New Normals are not fanatical totalitarians. They’re scared, and weak, so they are following orders, adjusting their minds to the new official “reality.” Most of them do not perceive themselves as adherents of a totalitarian system or as segregationists, although that is what they are. They perceive themselves as “responsible” people following sensible “health directives” to “protect” themselves and others from the virus, and its ever-multiplying mutant “variants.” They perceive the “Unvaccinated” as a minority of dangerous, irrational “conspiracy theorist” extremists, who want to kill them and their families. When we tell them that we simply want our constitutional rights back, and to not be forced into being “vaccinated,” and censored and persecuted for expressing our views, they do not believe us. They think we’re lying. They perceive us as threats, as aggressors, as monsters, as strangers among them, who need to be dealt with … which is exactly how the authorities want them to perceive us.

Serious stuff, for sure. But Hopkins in my view nails it.

Some other points. Remember what Franklin’s Director of Health and Human Services Courtney Day said at a meeting of the Franklin Common Council in July of 2020:

“Masks by themselves do not prevent anything. The best practice is to make sure you’re washing your hands and staying physically distant from someone.  Masks can certainly help. If you are asymptomatic and you might have the chance of impacting somebody else by being too close to them. Certainly they can help but this is not the only way this can spread and it’s not the only way to prevent spreading it.

“By and large there are far, far, far many things that people do that are a little bit riskier when they’re wearing masks because they forget about washing their hands or they get hot so they pull it down or pull it up, or they wear it around their ear or take it off with their hands and then lick their hand, all sorts of things that you’re not thinking about because you think the mask keeps me safe.”

Fast forward to last week. Dr Colin Axon, an advisor to The Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) in the United Kingdom told the London Telegraph masks have gaps in them that are up to 5000 times bigger than COVID particles.

“The small sizes are not easily understood but an imperfect analogy would be to imagine marbles fired at builders’ scaffolding, some might hit a pole and rebound, but obviously most will fly through. Masks can catch droplets and sputum from a cough but what is important is that SARS CoV-2 is predominantly distributed by tiny aerosols.

Those aerosols escape masks and will render the mask ineffective. The public were demanding something must be done, they got masks, it is just a comfort blanket. But now it is entrenched, and we are entrenching bad behavior.

“All around the world you can look at mask mandates and superimpose on infection rates, you cannot see that mask mandates made any effect whatsoever. The best thing you can say about any mask is that any positive effect they do have is too small to be measured.”

Consider this quote:

“Children aren’t the people most likely to get COVID.  You’re the safest group of people in the whole world, number one. Number two, you’re not likely be able to be exposed to something and spread it to Mommy or Daddy.”

Who said it? President Joe Biden.

Finally, researchers at Johns Hopkins recently reported that when studying a group of about 48,000 children, they found zero COVID deaths among healthy kids.

Dr. Marty Makary, a medical expert and professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Carey Business School says his research team “worked with the nonprofit FAIR Health to analyze approximately 48,000 children under 18 diagnosed with Covid in health-insurance data from April to August 2020.” The team “found a mortality rate of zero among children without a pre-existing medical condition such as leukemia.”

But the CDC doesn’t care. Makary contends the CDC continues to use “flimsy evidence” to push the COVID vaccine upon children.

Since early 2020 we’ve all known that kids generally don’t get it or spread the disease. But we know what’s coming.

The CDC will come out full force in calling for mask-wearing in schools. As a result, you who’ve been reacting heavily on what the CDC dictates will be under pressure to go along. Stick to your guns. Don’t flip flop on what you announced in June. And as for the propaganda, don’t fall for it.

Respectfully submitted,

Kevin Fischer

  1. I think that one needs to be flexible, including school boards. Whether you believe it or not, the Covid outbreak is changing over time. This is not the March 2020 Covid or the July 2020 Covid anymore. We are now fighting the July 2021 Covid variant.

Just as game conditions in football, baseball and basketball change as the game proceeds, the coach must be flexible and may see a need to change from the original game plan he worked out days before the game. The Covid virus has been playing a very diverse game and continues to modify its offensive plays. There is not yet a tried and true game plan to totally defeat it, and I think we all need to keep an open mind, flexible defenses, unbiased by politics and fight the enemy as it continues to play a dangerous “game.” I think we need everyone on the team to have the same mission, to win. I don’t think it is a simple as you would like to think.
