All I heard last night from the corporate media is how “this is the worst day in American history. This is how banana republics behave.” Really? Worse than the assassination of a President? Worse that the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor? Worse than 9/11? Worse than all the days young men came home in body bags from a futile “conflict” in Vietnam while our government lied about the cause and conduct of the war? Worse than the internment of citizens of Japanese descent? Worse than the forced removal of Native Americans from their historic lands? What they failed to articulate is, “worst day in America for who, exactly?”
I’m shocked that they are shocked. Our esteemed ruling class is not listening and, truth be told, they don’t understand, and they don’t care to understand. They don’t live amongst us dirty, working class people. They’re the elite rulers and they know what is best for you.
It is time to stop thinking in the tribal Republican vs. Democrat paradigm. We are no longer a government of, by and for the people. America is an oligarchy.
