Friday Night Forgotten Oldie: Chestnuts

Think of Christmas music and certain artists immediately come to mind.

Nat King Cole.

Frank Sinatra.

Perry Como.

Bing Crosby.

Andy Williams.

In 1992 Williams built the Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri, where, of course, he did Christmas concerts. One of them in 1994 was recorded and broadcast on PBS and also made into a video, album, and CD.

During the show Williams mentioned the old Christmas classics, some of which he was going to perform. He called them “chestnuts” and as he introduced  a new tune he hoped it would someday become a chestnut.

Hasn’t happened.

Still, a very, very nice song.
