Franklin aldermen show their petty and personal politics over a simple board appointment

The pettiness and personal animosity on the part of Franklin’s two worst aldermen was on display at tonight’s meeting of the Franklin Common Council.

Mayor Steve Olson appointed Ken Humont to serve a three-year term on the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals. Humont is the Owner/ Inspector at  On the Level Inspection Service LLC. He is eminently qualified. The decision was a mundane no-brainer.

And yet when the roll call was made, what should have been unanimous approval turned into a 4-2 vote in favor.

The two opposing votes were predictable: Alderman Dan Mayer and Alderwoman Kristen Wilhelm.

Why the rejection of Humont? He administers a Franklin Facebook page that allows commentary from folks like me that often criticize those two.

Humont also supports Mayor Steve Olson. Wilhelm and Mayer do not.

Their no votes speak a great deal to their character, or lack thereof.
