Friday Night Forgotten Oldie: ‘So you think that you’ve got trouble, well trouble’s a bubble’

Comedic legend and genius Carl Reiner died last week of natural causes. He was 98.

Reiner is best known as the creator, writer, and producer of “The Dick Van Dyke Show” where he often appeared as the egotistical star of his own TV variety show, Alan Brady. Van Dyke played Rob Petrie, the head writer for The Alan Brady Show,  and Mary Tyler Moore played Rob’s wife, Laura Petrie.

In one episode Laura got picked to go onstage at a TV game show and won some prizes. That was the good news.

Without telling her husband, Laura made the decision to try to apologize and reason with Alan Brady.

What about the music?

Where’s the oldie?

The two main stars appeared as guests in 2011 on the Rachael Ray Show.

BONUS!
Morey Amsterdam also wrote this song for the show:

The first verse refers to Cleopatra. In late 1962 when the Van Dyke episode was being filmed the famous Cleopatra  movie was in full production.
