President Trump could find the cure for cancer and still be crucified. That’s because there’s a faction that is so hateful it really doesn’t matter what accomplishments he’d achieve, and he’s had many.
One of the latest jabs (there are too many each day to count) comes from Matt Bennett. Don’t know who that is? In a few moments I’ll fill you in. Bennett is ripping the president for exiting the White House and walking through Lafayette Park to St. John’s Episcopal Church. Once there the president held up a Bible.
“Trump created the worst presidential visual of all time,” asserted Bennett.
“It’s impossible to overstate how insane this is. When Trump posed at the church, he stood in his odd, stiff posture, holding a Bible aloft like he was offering it for auction. He glowered at the camera … did not ask permission to use the church as a prop or even warn her that he was coming. He did not pray. He looked angry and mean … at a church.
The worst presidential visual of all time.
“I should know,” said Bennett. “I helped create what is now the second worst.”
Bennett is a co-founder and executive vice president of Third Way. He served in the Clinton White House and on five presidential campaigns, including the ill-fated run by Michael Dukakis in 1988.
“Massachusetts Gov. Mike Dukakis riding in a tank during the 1988 presidential campaign. Dukakis looked so out of place and silly, with a helmet perched on his head and his necktie firmly knotted, that the George H.W. Bush campaign created a devastating TV ad with the video,” wrote Bennett for USA TODAY.
President Trump would face ridicule, no matter what. But what about this?
At the same time the president was posing for holy pictures, Joe Biden was kneeling for a picture on Monday morning with the pastor and members of the Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Del. The news folks have ignored Biden’s blatant pandering.
As Tim Graham, the director of media analysis at the Media Research Center says, Biden has a “safe place in the liberal media.”
