WI Gov. Tony Evers’ stay at home executive order reads in part about closures:
Places of public amusement and activity. Whether indoors or outdoors, including but not limited to amusement parks, carnivals, water parks, licensed public or private swimming pools, splash pads, aquariums, zoos, museums, arcades, fairs, children’s play centers, playgrounds, funplexes, theme parks, bowling alleys, movie and other theaters, concert and music halls, country clubs, social clubs, and gyms and fitness centers.
Look closely. You don’t see the “g” word in there, do you?
Guess those geniuses running the Governor’s office hadn’t thought about that because they had to clarify later that golf courses in their estimation were non-essential businesses.
It’s not often a daily newspaper editorial in Wisconsin gets it right, but on this issue credit goes to the Racine Journal Times for demonstrating some uncommon common sense.
