In 2018 Ned Ryun wrote about Never Trumpers on The Hill:
The mainstream media eats up this “Republican who has turned on his party” schtick like a kid in a candy shop.
All of a sudden, the Never Trumpers have earned a “strange new respect” at CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and the rest.
The networks eagerly hand out contracts and airtime to promote the Never Trump elements, even though polling shows they represent almost no one but themselves. Their Trump hate might earn them pats on the head in the green room and invitations to the elite corners of the Acela Corridor, but it doesn’t represent the Republican base.
Fast forward to today and today’s read from The Federalist. Here’s a brief excerpt.
“Outside of the Beltway, Republicans and conservatives steadfastly opposed to Trump are a small minority – more than 90 percent of Republicans approve of the president,” Mark Hemingway writes at Real Clear Politics. “Yet, judging by the column inches and TV appearances being doled out, NeverTrump Republicans might be the most overrepresented demographic in America.”
The Never Trumpers …haven’t been correct on a thing in years, yet continue to earn their supper and an invitation to the party by wholeheartedly agreeing with their new patrons.
