The Barking Lot is a regular weekly feature of This Just In…Written by my lovely wife, Jennifer and me.  It opens with the weekend dog walking forecast followed by the main blog from dog lover, Jennifer. Then it’s DOGS IN THE NEWS and our close. Enjoy!

Now, here’s my lovely wife, Jennifer with this week’s main blog.

Last Saturday I was jealous of Kevin.

While I was home on a day that looked like skies would open any second to torrential rains, he was the emcee for the fourth year in a row for the Armed Forces Challenge held at St. John’s Military Academy.

Teams composed of senior and junior men and women compete to help our vets. Teams consist of those who are in military academies, to first responders, to ROTC and everything in between. They compete in events like the sniper crawl.

The whole idea is to raise funds to support veterans of the United States Armed Services to help them and/or their families.

I mention my jealousy because Kevin came home and proceeded to torment me by saying he met…

Piper.

You’ve probably figured out Piper is the canine in front of Michelle.

As you know Kevin is not particularly fond of dogs and vice versa. 🙂

But Piper took to him immediately.

That oh-so good-looking pooch is with War Dogs Milwaukee, the designated charity for this year’s Armed Forces Challenge.

Their mission is to educate people in the important role dogs have played in the service of wartime.

From the War Dogs Memorial in Menomonee Falls, WI…

War Dogs Milwaukee is 100% run by donations. For a $12 donation you will receive a T-shirt. For a $20 donation you will receive a sweatshirt and for $10 donation you will receive a hat.
