A beautiful moment at The Kentucky Derby

No, it wasn’t this.

The finish.

After the race the OBJECTION sign was engaged on the board. The crowd gasped. In 145 Derbies, the horse that finished first had never been disqualified. A buzz fell across Churchill Downs. Maximum Security was disqualified and Country House was declared the winner.

And  now there’s controversy, lots of it.

The beautiful moment came about one hour before the horses exploded out of the gates.

No one sat.

No one was kneeling.

No one pumped fists in the air.

No one “protested.”
