There’s a Brat Fry Fundraiser tomorrow (Saturday) at Piggly Wiggly in Hartland  (505 South Cottonwood) from 10:30a to 2:30p. All proceeds go to support War Dogs and the Veterans Dorm at Milwaukee’s Guest House.  PLEASE come and have a delicious brat, hot dog, or hamburger, and support a great cause.

War Dog’s Mission is to educate people in the important role dogs have played in the service of wartime.

The Guest House has been helping people overcome homelessness for over 30 years. Their LEADS for Vets program in our shelter provides case management for men who are veterans. This program is a collaboration between the Guest House and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Armed Forces Challenge on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:30 AM – 3 PM

Each year an annual event call the “Armed Forces Challenge” is held, this year at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, to raise funds to be donated to various non-profit organizations that support veterans and their families. The Armed Forces Challenge is not constituted in such a manner that we can directly support individual veterans and/or their families. The funds that are raised by the AFC are then donated to specific non-profit organizations that can directly benefit individual veterans and/or their families. Past recipients have included the Milwaukee and Veterans Resource Center located at UW-Milwaukee, Fisher House, and Wounded Warriors project. One of the designated charities for the 2019 event is War Dogs and The Veterans Dorms of Milwaukee’s Guest House.

I am honored to once again be this year’s emcee.
