City of Franklin, here’s an idea for you

Another title for this blog could have been: LeRoy Lewandowski was right!

I don’t go to biweekly Franklin Common Council meetings. Normally I have a conflict. But even if I didn’t wouldn’t go (there have been rare exceptions).

Let’s see. Spend valuable time with my family. Or go to City Hall to see folks ignored during the Citizen Comment Period, see the aldermen spend tax dollars needlessly, see my alderman Kristen Wilhelm ask questions ad nauseam, and essentially waste an evening.

Having said that I still urge others to show up, at least once, to witness their so-called leaders in action. Prepare to be frustrated.

I do wish to know what they’re up to. So, at my leisure I listen to the audio of the meetings posted on the city of Franklin’s website. This, too, is frustrating.

Regular attendee LeRoy Lewandowski has mentioned this at a meeting and he and I have talked about it. He’s the only who appears to get it and he’s right. The sound system is awful. Add the fact that no one knows how to use it and no one tells anyone how to use it.

This isn’t rocket science. Turn the system on. Make sure the volume is up. When it’s your turn to speak do so directly into the microphone.

I attempted listening to the last meeting. About 90-95% was inaudible. What a joke.

Instead of wasting tax dollars on useless studies why not fix the damn sound system.

Then again maybe city officials like it the way it is so folks can’t hear what’s really happening.
