I’m thinking of Frank Richardson today

Frank Richardson was a friend and colleague. I had the pleasure of working with him at WTMJ.

Many people knew Frank who possessed a booming deep voice. Many more depended on him.

Frank ingeniously developed the thorough and accurate system of announcing weather-related school and business closings. It was the first of its kind in all of Wisconsin and WTMJ had a powerful audience-grabbing exclusive.

Today all media outlets have a way to convey this information. They owe their thanks to Frank who did it first.

Richardson died in August of 2017 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC. He was 74.
