My trip to the dentist was an education about our society

“Kevin?”

“That’s me.”

The dental hygienist who called to me in the waiting room a few weeks ago was a very young woman.

As we walked down the hallway to the chair for my regular appointment she and I engaged in the obligatory small talk, even after I was seated.

“Any problems?”

“Are you flossing regularly?”

You know the drill.

How we got into this particular change of subject I don’t recall. I believe she just suddenly wanted to discuss her future. There might have been a mention of my future retirement.

That led to her revealing that she was 26 (I guessed 30 incorrectly).

She wants to get involved in the stock market and investing. Impressive, I thought, for a 26 year old.

Independence for her was a necessity because she lamented the poor quality of today’s dating scene.

“Men don’t want to be men, they’re not men,” referring to millennials as she cleaned away. “They’re all too wussy.”

Funny. That’s what I’ve been hearing and reading.

So no, Tomi Lahren (23-year-old political commentator for The Blaze). You are not alone.
