QUOTES OF THE WEEK

“I think one thing we should do is we would stiffen up our laws with guns with the death penalty. When people do this they should get the death penalty.”
President Trump on the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. At least eight people were killed, 12 were shot and three officers were injured while responding to an active shooting incident at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday.

“Any acts or threats of political violence are an attack on our democracy itself. No nation can succeed that tolerates violence or the threat of violence as a method of political intimidation, coercion, or control. We all know that. Such conduct must be fiercely opposed and firmly prosecuted. We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony. We can do it.

“We should not mob people in public spaces or destroy public property.  There is one way to settle our disagreements. It’s called: ‘peacefully at the ballot box.’ That’s what we want.” President Trump at a GOP rally in Mosinee, WI

“I am hopeful that despite all the noise, and the lies, and the distraction, we are going to cut through all that and remember who we are. The antidote to government by a powerful few is government by the organized, energized many.”
Former President Barack Obama at a rally in Milwaukee

“The media also has a responsibility to set a civil tone and to stop the endless hostility and constant negative and oftentimes false attacks and stories.”
President Trump at the Mosinee rally

“Over the past few days, 13 devices that look like bombs have been mailed to prominent Democrats, including former presidents, and celebrities. We just had an arrest in Florida, but we don’t know what their political leanings are, if any, or a motive. We don’t know. Yet, the liberal news media know exactly who it is: Donald Trump…and his supporters. We’re to blame for the Left becoming so mind-numbingly stupid over the past two years. And that goes double for the media.”
Columnist Matt Vespa

“I came (to the United States) fleeing the drug traffickers. The U.S. police know that. They told me I qualified for asylum. But they didn’t give it to me. I can’t live in Honduras because my life is in danger.”
David Polanco Lopez, 42, a former anti-narcotics officer from Progreso, Honduras. He was deported after living in the U.S. illegally for 13 years and is part of the Honduran caravan making its way to the U.S.

“Trump attracts 10,000 or more to rallies in small towns such as Elko, Nevada. He attracts 100,000 RSVPs to a Houston rally for Ted Cruz. Yet the potential 2020 Democrat presidential front-runner, Joe Biden, comes to Las Vegas and attracts 500 to a union hall.

“The latest polls show incumbent Democrat U.S. senators trailing in North Dakota, Missouri and Indiana. In early voting, the GOP is ahead by a mile in states across the country. In Tennessee, Republican turnout is up 33 points. Keep in mind the GOP never wins early voting.

“Why is this happening? Because Democrats have made the biggest mistake in the history of U.S. politics. I’m not even talking about the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. That was the second-worst mistake.

“I’m talking about the timing of the caravan coming from Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico to the U.S. border. I suspect this is the work of liberal, socialist and communist activists under the direction of George Soros (and other America-hating, open-borders-loving billionaire donors to the Democrat Party). They wanted to embarrass Trump and cause an international incident. But boy, did they miscalculate.

“This is the perfect issue at the perfect time for Trump and the GOP. This has made illegal immigration, open borders, sanctuary cities, the Abolish ICE Movement, the wall and every other immigration issue the defining, shining moment of the 2018 election. These are the issues that elected Trump. These are the issues that make Trump look like a genius and soothsayer.”
Columnist Wayne Allyn Root

“He’s not Lyin’ Ted anymore. He’s Beautiful Ted.”
President Donald Trump to reporters before going to Houston for his rally with Sen. Cruz

“Thinking of having kids? My toddler just cried for 45 minutes because her poop didn’t float in the toilet for her to see before she flushed.”
Christine Plumridge, single mom and blogger in Australia

“As attention spans have shortened, the average duration of Major League Baseball game has lengthened — from 2 hours 27 minutes in 1972 to 3 hours 4 minutes in 2018. The marathon between the Dodgers and Red Sox only reinforced Major League Baseball’s albatross — long games, long season, long-overdue solutions unenacted.”
Josh Peter of USA TODAY after the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Boston Red Sox, 3-2, in Game 3 of the World Series. The game took 18 innings.

MOST UNDER-REPORTED STORY OF THE WEEK

From columnist Matt Vespa:

On the Left, James Hodgkinson, a far left, pro-Bernie Sanders activist, grabbed a rifle and opened fire on congressional Republicans practicing for the annual baseball game in 2017. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) was shot and could have died. It was a mass assassination attempt. In 2018, Minnesota GOP candidates have been assaulted. The spokesperson for the Minnesota Democratic Party said that Republicans should go to the guillotine. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) have been harassed by mob-like behavior. Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Democrats should kick Republicans. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has egged on her supporters to harass Trump officials. Oh,and let’s not forget the ricin letters sent to Secretary of Defense James Mattis or the death threats hurled at Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME).

Yet, here’s the point: don’t lecture me about turning down the rhetoric when you people have become unspooled because your gal didn’t win an election.
