Friday Night Forgotten Oldie: Ein fröhliches Weihnachten, Kala Christougenna, Yoi kurisumasu

OK, what’s with that title?

If you can guess, that’s five (5) extra presents from Santa.

Here’s the deal on tonight’s oldie. Until some years ago you would never have known this song existed.

Because its existence dated back to a 1965 album and only that album that was sponsored by Goodyear.

The track was never released as a single and was never played on the radio ( I can’t understand why). Never, as in through today.

But it’s now available on CD and thank goodness because it’s a treasure.

Listen, and enjoy.

It’s Christmas time all over the World
It’s Christmas here at home
The church bells chime wherever we roam
Sa riktig God Jul
Feliz Natal
Shenoraavor Nor Dari
To you

The snow is thick in most of the world
Childrens’ eyes are wide
As old Saint Nick gets ready to ride
So Feliz Navidad
Sretan Bozic
And Happy New Year
To you

Though the customs may change
And the language is strange
This appeal we feel is real
In Holland or Hong Kong

It’s Christmas time all over the World
In places near and far
And so my friends wherever you are
Ein frohliches Weihnachten
Kala Christougenna
Yoi kurisumasu
Which means a very Merry Christmas
To you
