Have you seen the latest newsletter from the city of Franklin?
It contains a message from the new Franklin superintendent, Judy Mueller. Here’s a brief excerpt:
When I first started working in Franklin, when someone would ask me where I work, it wasn’t uncommon for them to say, “Where is that?” Today, when someone asks me where I work, it isn’t uncommon for them to say, “I’ve heard that’s a nice community.” As the next District Administrator of Franklin Public Schools, it is my goal to hear the common response, “I’ve heard that’s a nice community that has the best schools.”
That’s all well and good. but I’ve lived in Franklin since 1992 and to be brutally candid, in all those years, whenever I mentioned to people where I reside (I don’t work in Franklin) I’ve heard something totally different.
The initial reaction is universally an OMG, the taxes!
I have been told by a few that they’d love to live in Franklin but they couldn’t afford it.
And since we’re on the topic of schools, ICYMI.
