Pro-Life Wisconsin Testifies on Bill Prohibiting UW Employees from Performing Abortions
On Tuesday, July 18, Pro-Life Wisconsin Legislative Director Matt Sande testified before the Assembly Science and Technology Committee in support of Assembly Bill 206, legislation authored by Representative André Jacque (R-De Pere) that would prohibit both UW System and UW Hospital & Clinics Authority employees from performing or assisting in the performance of abortions while in the scope of their employment.
Assembly Bill 206 would effectively end UW medical resident abortion training and UW faculty performance of abortions at the Madison Planned Parenthood abortion facility, a grisly arrangement that stains the reputation of Wisconsin’s public university system and flagship hospital.
Please watch Matt’s public testimony on AB 206 on WisconsinEye HERE starting at 2 hours 14 minutes and 21 seconds (2:14:21).
Cynthia Jones-Nosacek, MD and James Linn, MD, president and vice-president of the Milwaukee Catholic Medical Guild, respectively, also testified in support of AB 206. Please watch Dr. Linn’s testimony on WisconsinEye HERE starting at 1 hour 35 minutes and 50 seconds (1:35:50) and Dr. Nosacek’s testimony on WisconsinEye HERE starting at 1 hour 57 minutes and 38 seconds (1:57:38).
Vigil for Life Madison, Pro-Life Wisconsin’s Dane County affiliate, was also present at the public hearing. Vigil for Life member Ken Pientka offered public testimony. Please watch Ken’s testimony on WisconsinEye HERE starting at 2 hours 38 minutes and 25 seconds (2:38:25).
We thank Representative Jacque for his leadership and strong public testimony on AB 206, and we especially thank Assembly Science and Technology Committee Chairman Romaine Quinn for hearing this critical bill.
Planned Parenthood Closing – Prayers Answered!
Written by: Dan Miller 7/24/17
According to a My Sheboygan article, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced their plans to close their Sheboygan office.
The closure will take effect on Thursday, August 17th, 2017, the article states.
Here’s how I see what happened. In 2014, the faithful of the Sheboygan area gathered to pray outside this facility with 40 Days for Life. They took their pro-life convictions and exercised their First Amendment free speech rights in a public forum.
The prayer spurred the community to action. Not long after the 40 Days for Life campaign, the pro-life community of Sheboygan identified a building out of which they could operate a pregnancy resource center. That building is now the home of Anchor of Hope Health Center, located at 703 N 9th Street in Sheboygan – just 1.3 miles away from Planned Parenthood’s soon to be vacated office. Prayer and action.
I spoke with Anchor of Hope Health Center’s Executive Director, Jacky Drewry, about the good news. “It really reminds me of Romans 2:6-7 – Who will render to every man according to his works. To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life.” Drewry continued, “It’s so humbling. We walk on the shoulders of those that have gone before us. Their prayers – our prayers, have been answered.”
Drewry mentioned the providence of all of it. “We have expanded our services to include STI testing & treatment, with a formal announcement to the public of a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on August 8th along with an open house. We know this means we will be busier than ever.”
Anchor of Hope Health Center offers the following services free of charge in complete confidentiality: pregnancy screening, ultrasound imaging, STI testing & treatment, abortion recovery, parenting classes and many other life affirming services.

HEALTH CARE: The government-appointed lawyer who supposedly speaks for Charlie Gard in court is the Chairman of Compassion in Dying, an “end-of-life” advocacy group with a sister organization that supports assisted suicide. Victoria Butler-Cole is listed as Compassion in Dying’s chairman on its website and in its financial documents. PLW: Charlie Guard’s parents are fighting for his life. Victoria Butler-Cole advocates for physician assisted suicide. Butler-Cole is morally compromised and is completely unfit to be representing Charlie in court.
ABORTION: A federal judge in Illinois handed down a major victory for religious conscience and free speech protection Wednesday, granting a statewide preliminary injunction against a 2016 law change that would force pro-life medical providers to refer patients to abortion businesses upon request. PLW: This blatant denial of conscience and free speech rights should never have been signed into law in the first place. God bless this judge for ruling this law unconstitutional.
MEDICAL DECISION-MAKING: Having a child die is a devastating experience for any family. Having a child die due to negligence, or discrimination in care or treatment, adds a whole new level of pain for families and loved ones. PLW: It is discrimination of the vilest kind when health care institutions, doctors and governments take it upon themselves to judge a human person’s life, worth, and dignity. God alone is the author of life and death.
ABORTION REVERSAL: After taking the first pill, she was immediately sad. She and Jason cried as they drove home and had to pull the car over. “We tried our best to brush off what we had just committed, but the anguish and regret grew so overwhelming we had to pull over on the side of the road.” PLW: This baby, Finley, got a second chance due to a pro-life doctor applying the fairly new abortion pill reversal treatment. Dr. Michael Kloess of Our Lady of Hope Clinic in Madison also provides abortion pill reversals.
DEFUNDING PP: It looks like Planned Parenthood won’t be defunded and Obamacare won’t be repealed thanks to three Republican senators. Republicans failed to rally enough senators to vote for the Better Care Reconciliation Act, which would repeal and replace Obamacare. PLW: Planned Parenthood’s business is and always has been abortion. Taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood should never have been accepted and must be ended immediately.
