Public Hearing on Bill Prohibiting UW Employees from Performing Abortions

State Representative André Jacque (R-De Pere) and State Senator Chris Kapenga (R-Delafield) have introduced companion legislation (Assembly Bill 206 / Senate Bill 154) that would prohibit both UW System and UW Hospital & Clinics Authority employees from performing or assisting in the performance of abortions while in the scope of their employment.

Assembly Bill 206/Senate Bill 154 would effectively end UW medical resident abortion training and UW faculty performance of abortions at the Madison Planned Parenthood abortion facility, a grisly arrangement that stains the reputation of Wisconsin’s public university system and flagship hospital.

The Assembly Science and Technology Committee will hold a public hearing on AB 206 tomorrow Tuesday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 417 North (GAR Hall) of the State Capitol.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Legislative Director Matt Sande will testify in support of AB 206. Cynthia Jones-Nosacek, MD and James Linn, MD, president and vice-president of the Milwaukee Guild of the Catholic Medical Association, respectively, will also testify in support of AB 206.

  • Please ATTEND the public hearing and testify or register in favor of AB 206.
  • If you are unable to attend the public hearing, please CALL or EMAIL your state representative and state senator and urge him/her to PASS AB 206 / SB 154.

Tell them:

“UW faculty members and medical residents should NOT be spending their paid state time providing abortions.

“Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin should not be an abortion-training ground for UW medical residents.”

“Abortion is NOT healthcare!”

To find out who your state representative and state senator is, visit and type in your street address, city and zip code in the upper right hand corner. If you prefer to leave a telephone message with your state senator and state representative, please call the toll-free State Legislative Hotline at (800) 362-9472.

  • Please PRAY for this effort! Let’s end the scandal of Wisconsin’s public employees doing Planned Parenthood’s dirty work.

Thank you for making your pro-life voice heard!

JUDICIAL OVERREACH: U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick ruled Tuesday that attorneys Steve Cooley and Brentford Ferreira, who represent David Daleiden of The Center for Medical Progress, violated Orrick’s injunction against releasing any new videos. Judge Orrick is holding them in contempt after links to the videos appeared on the attorneys’ website.  PLW: We must keep David Daleiden and his heroic lawyers in our prayers as this activist pro-abortion judge continues to attack them.

OH NO CANADA: The Justin Trudeau Liberals will pour $241.5 million into providing and promoting contraception and abortion in developing nations — particularly in Africa — as part of their commitment to securing global access to “sexual and reproductive health and rights.” PLW: Women and their families in developing countries deserve true health care, not contraception and abortion that only end lives and wreak havoc on the family.

MEDICAL DECISION-MAKING: A top American doctor will examine Charlie Gard on Monday and Tuesday and his mother will be allowed to be present, despite the efforts of a government-appointed “guardian” to exclude her. PLW: We continue to pray for the healing of Charlie Gard, for his parents, and for the courts of Great Britain and Europe to respect parental rights.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD: A U.S. women’s professional basketball team is supporting Planned Parenthood by giving a portion of ticket revenue from an upcoming game to the abortion provider. The WNBA’s Seattle Storm’s July 18 home game against the Chicago Sky is “Stand with Planned Parenthood” night.  PLW: It’s sickening and ironic when a woman’s professional sports organization supports Planned Parenthood who is responsible for the death of thousands of young women’s lives each day.  They’re killing future women athletes.

TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTION: The Democrat-controlled Oregon legislature has passed a measure requiring abortions to be covered by insurance. These “free” abortions will be covered at taxpayer expense, for any reason, at any time throughout pregnancy, for residents and nonresidents alike, including undocumented immigrants. PLW: Abortion is the direct and intentional killing of the preborn child and is completely abhorrent.  To force the Oregon pro-life taxpayer to fund abortion is a gross violation of his or her conscience.

ABORTION FACILITIES CLOSED: The pro-life group Operation Rescue reports that according to Right to Life of Northeast Ohio, two abortion facilities have suddenly closed without announcing the reasons why. The Akron Women’s Medical Group and the Cleveland Women’s Medical Group, which appeared to share at least one abortionist, have a history of what Operation Rescue calls “egregious health violations and botched abortions.” PLW: Abortion facilities are the dirtiest of businesses in numerous ways.  Whatever their reason for closing, we pray they will remain closed for good.
