Pro-Life News:

CELEBRITIES: For a very long time, the liberal Left has been issuing and promoting movies that have pro-choice agendas. Think of  “The Cider House Rules,” “Dirty Dancing,” and “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” PLW: Hollywood is “on autopilot” supporting abortion, LifeZette writer Melissa Mullins writes.

DEFUND PP: Several key falsehoods have long plagued our public debates about abortion, particularly with regard to Planned Parenthood, the U.S.’s largest abortion provider. A few of those misrepresentations — especially the fiction that Planned Parenthood provides essential, quality care to American women — are front and center in an ongoing argument over the GOP’s health-care-reform efforts. PLW: The Republican Party platform is strongly pro-life. When some Republican office holders deceptively prop up Planned Parenthood, it degrades the platform and changes the political conversation.

SEX ED: As of Monday morning, the school board was scheduled to vote on adopting the “Get Real” curriculum, which is partially developed by Planned Parenthood. However, after one member of the Human Growth and Development citizen committee withdrew their support of the curriculum the decision was postponed. PLW: Parents at this public school are speaking out against the proposed curriculum, a good thing. Ultimately, parents are responsible for their children’s education.

SOCIALIZED MEDICINE: Charlie Gard, a 10-month-old baby, has mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. It’s a horrendous condition that leads to organ malfunction, brain damage and other symptoms. The hospital that had been treating the boy made the determination that nothing more can be done for him and he must be taken off of life support. He should “die with dignity,” they said. PLW: Our 2016 Love for Life Gala speaker, Matt Walsh, breaks down the story of how a European human rights court determined Charlie’s parents can’t take him to the U.S. for treatment. Charlie has been sentenced to death.

VIDEOS: David Daleiden said he has more videos from the National Abortion Federation conference, but a gag order from a judge is preventing him from releasing them. He said Planned Parenthood is “terrified” that the tapes will become public. PLW: Videos tell a story like no other medium can, and that’s why the Center for Medical Progress’ videos have been so effective in bringing Planned Parenthood’s horrible practices into everyday conversation.

ILLINOIS: Pro-life physicians and crisis pregnancy centers have filed suit in state and federal court against an Illinois law that specifically requires those with a conscientious objection to abortion to give their patients information about abortion providers and what the state calls the “benefits” of an abortion. PLW: Health care providers of any type need conscience clause protections, otherwise they will be forced into procedures and referrals against their beliefs.
