SCOTLAND: Bishop Stephen Robson of Dunkeld has said Scotland’s Catholics are ‘duty bound’ to speak out against abortion, as new NHS Scotland figures revealed a substantial increase in terminations where there is a risk of a baby being born seriously disabled. PLW: Killing someone because he or she isn’t our definition of “perfect” is wrong.

PENNSYLVANIA: The abortion facility at 2709 N. Front St. (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) was cited for numerous issues including improper staffing, expired medications and medical supplies, and failing to follow anesthesia policies for surgical abortions, according to the state Department of Health. PLW: Abortion is never safe for the baby, and it’s often unsafe for the mothers, especially when abortion facilities don’t follow health and safety standards.

VIDEOS: Fox News’ Tucker Carlson criticized a federal judge on his show yesterday for censoring an undercover video of what really happens on the inside of a secretive abortion conference. He floated the idea of “civil disobedience,” suggesting that Americans should watch the video since they have a “right to know the truth.” PLW: Remember these videos about Planned Parenthood leaders talking about the sale of baby body parts? Despite the frequent use of undercover video by journalists, these videos may disappear based on a judge’s order.

CANADA: LifeSiteNews went to court this week to fight a publication ban on the trial of pro-life activist Mary Wagner. Wagner has been jailed since December after allegedly entering Toronto’s Bloor West Village Women’s Clinic in an effort to convince women to choose life for their babies. PLW: Canadian courts are grappling with multiple free-speech questions right now, including their fight with the pro-life news website LifeSiteNews.

CHOOSE LIFE PLATE: A plan to offer a “Choose Life” license plate to raise money for “life affirming programs and projects” will soon head to (Michigan) Gov. Rick Snyder after passing the House on Thursday. PLW: These license plates will raise funds for pregnancy resource centers that directly help moms and babies, and they’ll raise awareness on the roads. Wisconsin’s “Choose Life” license plate should be ready this fall.To stay up-to-date all week, follow Pro-Life Wisconsin on Twitter.
