Gee whiz, Franklin has never been this greedy

Franklin has a well-known, well-documented history of drinking from the “Raise your own taxes” trough. It comes from the powers that be constantly, constantly asking for Franklin hypnotized taxpayer zombies to, after drinking the Kool-Aid, to then go to the polls and vote YES, YES,  After all, it’s for the children.

Franklin nods and nods, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.

But thank God, the beggars with hands extended have never been this outrageous, this obnoxious about what I’m about to share.

Back in January the Howard-Suamico School Board voted unanimously (not a single no vote) to put this referendum on last week’s ballot:

Shall the Howard-Suamico School District, Brown County, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, for the 2017-18 school year and thereafter by $4,000,000, for recurring purposes consisting of added student support, employee compensation, and facility maintenance?

Read carefully.

exceed the revenue limit for the 2017-18 school year and thereafter by $4,000,000.

No time limit was set. The exceeding of revenue limits sanctioned by the state would go on by $4 million year after year if the referendum was approved.

Good God Almighty. That would mean till the end of time.

In a six-page Q and A piece on the school district’s website about the referendum, nowhere in the 1385 words is there any clear explanation of:

exceed the revenue limit for the 2017-18 school year and thereafter by $4,000,000.

But voters figured it out.

And you know what means. Two things.

One, the supposedly well-educated folks running the school district do not understand the meaning of the word “NO.”

And two, the sky is falling.

They’ll be coming after again you, Franklin. Hopefully not like this. Don’t fall for their tactics.
