Congress has the opportunity to fix the mess that is Obamacare.

Americans were promised that they could keep their doctor and promised that they could keep their coverage, and it simply was not true.

The American Health Care Act (AHCA) works to repeal burdensome costs and regulations while preserving the employer-based health care system that insures 177 million Americans.

The U.S. Chamber was among the first to voice support for the AHCA. Now it’s your turn – tell Congress to pass the AHCA.

As the House prepares to vote on the legislation tomorrow, we want to share why we think this bill will make a real difference.

While it is not perfect – no piece of legislation is – the AHCA advances many key objectives and represents an improvement over existing law, including:

Improving Access to Affordable Coverage

The American Health Care Act repeals a number of ACA taxes that directly and indirectly increased the cost of health care and insurance, including the Health Insurance Tax, the Medical Device Tax, and suspends the Cadillac Tax.

The legislation also expands the use of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), including by increasing the contribution limits for HSAs to match the out-of-pocket and deductible limit, repealing the tax increase on HSA distributions, and repealing the cap on FSA contributions.

Preserving the Employer Sponsored Health Care System

Importantly, the AHCA maintains a firewall between the new tax credits and the existing employer sponsored insurance, which over 177 million individuals rely for highly valued coverage.

Contributes to Economic Growth

This legislation eliminates the employer mandate penalty, making it easier for businesses to investment and grow, and repeals over a dozen tax increases enacted as part of Obamacare with total tax relief exceeding $900 billion over ten years.

Urge your Members of Congress to support the AHCA before it’s too late. Contact them before the vote.

Thank you,
