Many years ago a good friend of one of my uncles told me the story of the time he was in line at as I recall was a fast food restaurant. The youngster behind the counter informed him that his total bill included his senior discount.
My uncle’s friend, Eddie, clearly beyond the senior discount age of eligibility, became upset, telling the worker he didn’t want it. Eddie pointed at the much younger person in the line next to him.
“Why should I get a discount and not him? I’m no better than he is. Take the discount off my bill.”
That raises a serious question. Are senior discounts discriminatory?
