From Pro-Life Wisconsin:

Judge Neil Gorsuch has strong history of defending life at all stages

Gorsuch, a 49-year-old federal appeals court judge from Colorado, was tapped by Trump on Tuesday to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who died last year after three decades on the Supreme Court. Aside from his bona fides as a lawyer and a jurist — which may all but guarantee a favorable vote in the Senate — Gorsuch has cultivated something of an expertise in assisted suicide and euthanasia in his legal career.

In 2006, the year he was nominated to the federal bench, he released a heavily researched book on the subject titled “The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia.”

The front cover looks almost like a Tom Clancy novel, with purple all-caps block text set against a black background. But the book itself is a deep, highly cerebral overview of the ethical and legal debate surrounding the practices.

EC Hospital Mandate: Twenty-two hospitals in Wisconsin, including SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, have been fined by the state for not following a law requiring them to offer emergency contraception to rape victims. PLW: If there are hospitals among these 22 that are noncompliant because they feel the law is a violation of their religious freedom, they ought to challenge it. There are constitutional grounds to do so.

TEXAS DEATH THREATS: State Rep. Tony Tinderholt, a Republican from Arlington, is under Texas Department of Public Safety protection after getting death threats following his filing of a bill designed to criminalize abortions. PLW: We salute Tinderholt’s attempt to criminalize killing preborn children, and we pray for his safety. Hopefully more legislators will follow his lead.

PRO-LIFE START: Though it can be frustrating and discouraging work, Matthew Von Rueden finds his commitment to the pro-life movement renewed at the annual March for Life. PLW: Matt’s experience at marches grew his passion for saving lives, and now he’s helping more high school students and young adults find that same passion.

GORSUCH: Neil Gorsuch, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, has sided against Planned Parenthood and birth control coverage during his career as a federal appeals court judge. PLW: Gorsuch has a record of accurately reviewing laws and judging fairly. This article refers to Utah’s defunding of Planned Parenthood after it was found to illegally profit from selling baby body parts. Gorsuch ruled that was a legal decision.

ABORTION: What we didn’t realize was that, once abortion becomes available, it becomes the most attractive option for everyone around the pregnant woman. If she has an abortion, it’s like the pregnancy never existed. No one is inconvenienced. PLW: Many women are pressured into abortion because of the convenience of those around them. That’s not lifting up women and it’s not embracing femininity.

GORSUCH: Gursuch wrote in a book about ethics, ‘All human beings are intrinsically valuable and the intentional taking of human life by private persons is always wrong.’ Do you believe that? PLW: Fox News’ Tucker Carlson exposes the hypocrisy of abortion supporters.

FACTS: People are very concerned about the care women will receive when Planned Parenthood is defunded. They are so concerned that they have begun to tout lies and call them truths. PLW: Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood manager, explains how the organization blurs their message to the public.

MARCH FOR LIFE: The enthusiasm I saw at the march, the cheerful and confident faces, was not the result of any recent election. It reflects the marchers’ confidence in a higher regime, one not subject to elections, whose orders not even the Supreme Court has in the end the power to stay. PLW: The March for Life, despite it’s fight against the culture of death, is always hopeful, always prayerful, always peaceful.

Pro-Life Movement calls for Defunding of Planned Parenthood Under Trump Presidency

On Saturday, February 11, 2017 over 200 public protests of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics and facilities will take place all over the United States. These demonstrations, all occurring on the same day, all focused on Planned Parenthood facilities, will raise public awareness that Planned Parenthood is the number one abortion provider in the United States and call for the defunding of the abortion giant.

Planned Parenthood currently receives $554,000,000 in tax-payer funding.  In June 2015 a scandal erupted over the barbaric practice of abortion and the sale of aborted baby body parts—due to undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress. They were produced by 27-year-old David Daleiden, who, in a stealth sting operation, recorded high-level Planned Parenthood executives discussing the violent nature of abortion procedures and the securing of aborted baby body parts in chilling, graphic detail.

The videos prompted Congressional debate on defunding Planned Parenthood and several states have already taken action to defund the group. Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, was called to congressional hearings and felt the need, after the first CMP video was released, to deny that her group broke any laws, but publicly apologized for the cavalier “tone” of PP executive Dr. Deborah Nucatola, regarding how she discussed
aborting unborn children.

What:   Nationwide protests calling for the defunding
of Planned Parenthood

Where: At over 200 Planned Parenthood facilities across America

When:  Saturday, Feb.11th –most scheduled from 9:00am-11:00am in all time zones

Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in America, (performing over 300,000 abortions per year).  In January 2017 the group LiveAction conducted undercover investigations that revealed Planned Parenthood clinics offer little pre-natal care services and ultra sounds only provided to women seeking abortion.   See:

In the entire history of legalized abortion, Planned Parenthood has never faced such media scrutiny and public criticism of its abortion practice and the possibility of losing multi-million dollars in federal funding.

Monica M. Miller of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society comments: “The defunding of Planned Parenthood is a matter of moral principle. Not a single cent of American tax dollars should go to an organization that kills innocent human life— that fails to honor the sanctity of life.  Planned Parenthood could continue to receive government support if it ceases killing the unborn. Opposition to Planned Parenthood is about abortion and the facilitation of abortion. And it is the goal of the pro-life movement that the five hundred million plus dollars that currently are allocated to Planned Parenthood be shifted to community health centers that provide even more comprehensive health care to both men and women—while respecting the right to life of all.”

Mark Harrington of Created Equal states: “Pre-natal care, adoption services pale in comparison to their other services—and their big money-maker is abortion.  Of the 1.2 million abortions that take place each year, almost one third are done in a Planned Parenthood clinic. It’s time to shut off American tax-payer supports for such a group that kills innocent human beings.”

Eric Scheidler of the Pro-life Action League states:  “Planned Parenthood’s own fiscal reports show that nearly all of their services have declined except the so-called abortion service. Maybe if Planned Parenthood got out of the abortion business then tax-funding could go toward their building up real health care options for women.”
