A couple of years ago the director of my office department (now employed elsewhere) came up with the idea that the group could learn to work more cohesively, more efficiently if we participated in a group experiment. Never mind we already got along just fine and worked well together.
So we embarked one morning on a surprise exercise out of the office at a local improv comedy club that we took over for an hour or two. We proceeded to do skits and role playing.
Humorous? You bet. A chance to get away from the office and our individual workloads? Indeed.
Effective? Well, I would have accomplished a lot more back at my desk.
Could something possibly a bit more dramatic have been more productive?
